This programme area focuses on the credibility and legitimacy of democratic processes at the local government level. In terms of elections, we work for the credibility of electoral processes and outcomes with the goal of ensuring the votes count and post-election outcomes are reflective of the express wishes of the electorate.
In the governance phase following elections, we engage critical institutions through knowledge production, and dialogue sessions to reinforce best practices to enable them achieve effective governance for the benefit of citizens.
